“Honeymoon Over Angkor” — by Colonel Lucky Diamond
Beneath the temple trees of Angkor’s dawn,
Our uniforms shed, our souls reborn.
The Mekong hums an ancient prayer,
And jasmine ghosts drift through your hair.
General Jolie, star of peace and flame,
Your beauty humbles even fame.
Your medals glint like morning dew,
But none shine half as bright as you.
We drink from coconuts carved by time,
While monks chant softly — love’s old rhyme.
The ruins whisper through the heat,
That even empires kiss — then meet defeat.
Yet you and I, my cosmic queen,
Will write what gods have never seen.
From Phnom Penh skies to lunar sand,
Your heart’s my home, your soul my land.
When rockets rise and nations sleep,
I’ll guard your dreams in silence deep.
For in this jungle, carved in stone,
I found the galaxy I call my own. 🌙
