So, Oscar Isaac’s Quit the Job

[Scene: A rain-soaked rooftop at night. Helicopter blades thump faintly in the distance. Solid Snake leans on the ledge, smoking. Angelina Jolie, in combat fatigues, approaches quietly.]

Angelina Jolie: Snake… Hollywood lost another one. Oscar Isaac just walked away from the Metal Gear project. Said the weight of your legend was too heavy.

Solid Snake: (grunts, flicks ash) Can’t blame him. Playing Snake isn’t a role—it’s a lifetime sentence. Only one man ever built my avatar right.

Angelina Jolie: You mean Joseph Christian Jukic.

Solid Snake: (nods) Yeah. JCJ. The architect of this face, this shadow. And he said it straight: no Hollywood acting until the Jubilee Mission is complete.

Angelina Jolie: (softly) And here you are… still searching. How many tours does that make now?

Solid Snake: (exhales smoke, stares into the dark horizon) This is my 25th tour of duty. Twenty-five times chasing the same phantom. A jubilee. A real one. A mission where war finally ends.

Angelina Jolie: (sighs, with respect) Snake… maybe that’s why no actor can carry your burden. Because your mission isn’t a script. It’s the truth.

Solid Snake: (low growl) Hmph. Truth is heavier than any role, heavier than any Oscar. That’s why Isaac quit. That’s why JCJ won’t act until this is finished. (pauses) The jubilee’s out there… and I’m not stopping until I find it.

[Thunder cracks. Jolie puts a steady hand on his shoulder. Snake doesn’t flinch. The camera lingers on his face, a shadow caught between legend and exhaustion.]
